The basic idea behind the WP4086 Condition Based Monitoring System is, to make it easy for the monitoring party of the wind-turbines to determine if there is a problem in the bearings and gears of the wind-turbine. The CBMS system is consisting of the following: A stand-alone controller installed in the nacelle of the wind-turbine (in the Top-Box cabinet if possible) Accelerometers places strategically at gearbox, generator, main-shaft and main-bearings. The accelerometers are cable-connected to the WP4086 CBMS-controller. The WP4086 CMS-system has been approved by Alliance insurance LVRT Retrofit Solution for China Due to high levels of wind power penetration, certain regions of China have experienced power disruptions following system faults due to the inability of existing turbines to ride through the short term low voltage conditions caused by the faults. In response, China is expected to strengthen the Interconnection requirements for these turbines in such a way as to encourage turbine owners to retrofit the existing turbines with improved Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) capability. Because the LVRT retrofit challenges in China are different from those in other parts of the world such as Spain and Germany; an LVRT retrofit solution that specifically designed for China is required. To meet this need AMSC and MITA have collaborated to develop the Wind-RT LVRT retrofit solution.
